Health Champions' Guide to Herbs and Spices for Everyday Cooking

Spices can transform food from ordinary to extraordinary. They perk up dishes and give them flair.

Don’t be afraid of using herbs and spices – they have so many different flavours and not all produce what we think of as “heat”. A spice is an aromatic part of a plant with lots of flavour. Herbs on the other hand are leaves of plants, which are used to flavour food.

To those of you who are new to cooking with spices, learn to be creative in the kitchen by using them in some of your meals. This quick guide includes a selection of some of our favourite herbs and spices used in many of the Health Champions’ dishes – so break out the herbs and spices and get cooking!
